The chef

Eduard Frauneder

Drawing on years of Michelin-star experience, Chef Frauneder brings Southern French cuisine to Lower Manhattan with meticulous attention to detail. From the first aperitif to the final dessert course, every evening at 109 Washington Street unfolds slowly, sensually, and with precision.

The kitchen works seasonally, sourcing the finest ingredients to create elegant classics, reinterpreted for the present: frisée aux lardons, loup de mer with piperade, onglet de bœuf with Café de Paris butter, tarte au citron.

“Beauty at table begins with intention: thoughtful ingredients, timeless technique, and the pleasure of sharing.”

The house

From Schilling to Café Fleuri

For ten years this courtyard house on Washington Street was Schilling, Chef Frauneder's Austrian restaurant and bar. In 2026 it became Café Fleuri: fresh flowers on every table, floral wallpaper, tufted banquettes in warm marigold under a green ceiling, an oak bar, and the garden behind the brick.

Two rooms and a courtyard: Le Jardin for lunch and dinner in season, La Salle and Le Bar for private dining, and Catering by Fleuri wherever you gather.
